Our Educators

SachelleMy name is Sachelle Fidler. I have owned and operated Little Munchkins Preschool Centre since September 2005. I began my early childhood journey by working for a few daycare centres in Fredericton. It was there that I discovered my love for teaching children and my dream of owning my very own centre was created.

I received my Teacher Assistant and Early Childhood Education Diplomas and graduated with Honours.

Little Munchkins Preschool Centre began in my home with a small group of children in September 2005. Four years later, the demand met the opportunity to build our beautiful brand new centre in the fall of 2009.

Today, I am proud to have a team of specialized staff, wonderful families and children excited to learn new things!

Watching a child grow and flourish developmentally was my inspiration for Little Munchkins. I strongly believe that by creating an environment where friendships are cherished, a sense of wonder is created and children are welcome to explore new discoveries, children can develop the eventual basics to lifelong learning. I strive to achieve this by attending professional development seminars, researching, providing resources for staff and parents, networking with other educators who share the same vision as I do and by getting involved with our associations regional board Early Childhood Care Education New Brunswick.

I welcome you to discover our childcare difference!

ChristieHi! My name is Christie Blackwell and I am the Assistant Director at Little Munchkins Preschool Centre. I have been a staff member of Little Munchkins since March of 2006. Throughout these years I have worked with all the different age groups which range from infants to afterschool age.

I graduated from Atlantic Business College with my Early Childhood Education with Honours in 2008, and also have finished my training for the new Emergent Curriculum. Throughout the years, I have participated in many workshops and courses to further my training.

I also am a certified Pastry Chef in which I graduated from The Culinary Institute of Canada in 2004, that’s why if you arrive at the centre between 7-730am, you will find me in the kitchen baking or preparing our yummy snacks.

When I am not at Little Munchkins I enjoy being at my home in Yoho Lake spending time with my husband and our two dogs. I also enjoy reading, cooking and working on my house.

I have enjoyed my years at Little Munchkins, working alongside Sachelle, and I love how our centre has ground and evolved into what it is today. I look forward to many more enjoyable years here.

KarenMy name is Karen Sprague. I am a mother of three teenage children. I have worked at Little Munchkins on two different occasions, the first time began in March 2010, then I went on to Atlantic Business College where I graduated with honours in Early Childhood Education and Teacher's Assistant courses. I did my on the job training here and now I absolutely love working with the 2 year old group. Before becoming employed at Little Munchkins Preschool Center I was a Kindergarten Support worker at Kingsclear Consolidated School. When I am not working I travel my children to various sporting events such as hockey, soccer, church and school events and clubs. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, camping, four wheeling and other outdoor events!

MarciAs I sit watching the family in front of me play in the salty waters, off of the Corfu Island in Greece, I feel this over whelming feeling of happiness; that's when it hits me. A big part of my happiness comes from my relationships with my family and friends. It was shortly after that realization that I began my progress in a carrier veering towards caring for children. Hi! I'm Marci Craig. I'm a creative, up-beat, big hearted person who is proud to say that I'm born and raised in Fredericton NB. After graduating from FHS in 2007, I moved to a small town in Quebec. There I had the opportunity to have my bilingual skills flourish in a predominately french environment. By the time spring rolled around in 2008 two of my friends and I were in the prosess of backpacking through Europe. On my return I had a new passion for life and was excited to start a new chapter on my journey. I enrolled in NBCCSJ (New Brunswick Community College Saint John) to obtain my Early Childhood Education Diploma. After graduating college in 2009, with my ECE diploma, I jump started my carrier in a daycare facility. There for the next two and a half years I worked with the 3 and 4 yr old children. Everyday I am astonished with what the children teach me; like how flowers really are beautiful and they deserve that extra minute to be admired, or on the darkest of days how a kind smile can brighten up the world around you . I've come to realize there is no better feeling in the world then to see a childs progress and watch their spirits sore high from the joy of life around them. Here at Little Munchkins Preschool Center I am more then honored to be a part of each childs life; as I myself feel privileged to have them let me come into their big world.

LeslieMy name is Leslie Dionne and am one of the preschool teachers here at Little Munchkins! I was born and raised in Western Massachusetts, but followed my heart and moved to Fredericton in June of 2011. I feel so lucky to live in such a beautiful place, and am fortunate to call Fredericton home.

I am a 2009 graduate of Hallmark Institute of Photography located in Turners Falls, Massachusetts. Although I love all areas of photography, I specialize in weddings and portraits.

Family is something I cherish. Moving away from home and not having my family close has been my biggest struggle yet. Over the past seven years, my nieces and nephews have opened my eyes to another passion of mine; my love for working with children. In 2011 I enrolled in NBCC Fredericton, and graduated with honors in the Early Childhood Education program. To be able to help children learn, and watch them reach new milestones, is one of the most rewarding jobs I could have.

I joined the Little Munchkins family in October of 2012, and that's what I love about our centre; we're family! It's an honor to be a part of these children's lives, and look forward to many years here!

Tabatha“Gentle hands and a caring heart doe’s a positive role model make’’

Hi, my name is Tabatha Fournier, I am a lifelong learner and a devoted Mother of 2 beautiful children.  I have just completed my Early Childhood Education Certificate at NBCC in Woodstock and while doing so I also completed workshops in Inclusion, Active Kids and Talk with Me.

My role as a part of the ‘Little Munchkins’ team is to encourage growth in all areas of development in a fun meaningful way.  I believe children learn best through experience.  I see your children as my team members; we collaborate and build learning activities with their interest in mind.

I am honored to be a member of this beautiful community of learners, educators and families.

My name is Kayla Waye and I have been a part of the Little Munchkins family since spring of 2014.  I came to this center on a practicum placement for my Early Childhood Education program, and was very excited when I was asked to join the amazing team of educators at the center.

I am originally from Miramichi, and have lived in Fredericton since 2010 and absolutely love the city!  I began my educational journey after graduating high school with full intentions on being a teacher. I attended both St. Thomas University, for two years, and the University of New Brunswick for one, in the Bachelor of Arts program.  While in need of a part time job during school I took a position working with after school aged children in a childcare environment and after working this job for a couple of months I knew that I needed to change my future plans.   So I left university and went to NBCC where I graduated from the Early Childhood Education program with honours.

I throughly enjoy working with children and believe that every child deserves the opportunity to grow and excel in a caring, loving and stimulating environment.  Education is something that I am passionate about, and I fully support each child in their quest to learn about the world they live in and hope that they will have a love of learning too.
